Mixon Fruit Farms Inc - (941) 748-5829

For as long as I can remember my grandparents stopped here for their fruit. They shipped it home to all of us too. Their fruit was always fresh and good. If you got a bad piece, they would replace it. When you get to FL, you can tour the place (though it is more limited than it use to be). They have lots of samples to taste and a wonderful gift shop.

This place is so much fun. They have so many different kinds of oranges to choose from and will ship them for you as gifts. They even give out free glasses of OJ and it's good too. You can tour the fields too. They even have orange ice cream.

Mixon's is a locally owned, locally run citrus grove and yes, you can go there to buy lots of citrus to enjoy yourself or to ship back to envious family up north. They sell amazing juices, citrus ice cream, salad dressings, marmalade, any citrus-related food product you can imagine. But Mixon Fruit Farms is so much more! They have a lovely garden complete with waterfall where you can picnic with a lunch bought at their deli. Their wedding site and banquet facility is lovely and very reasonably priced. Best of all for families, there are tram rides through the groves where you can learn about citrus and Florida wildlife. If you're visiting Florida, take a couple of hours to go to Mixon and see a bit of the real Florida. Gail M.
